For Prospective Student AthletesStudents who are wishing to play sports at the collegiate level must register with the NCAA Clearinghouse. Students should not register with the Clearinghouse until after the completion of their junior year of high school. All student-athletes in the graduating classes of 2005, 2006 and 2007 must complete 14 core courses in high school to be eligible to participate in NCAA Division I or Division II sports. Beginning with the class of 2008, student-athletes must complete 16 core courses in order to participate in NCAA Division I athletics; student-athletes must complete 14 core courses to participate in NCAA Division II athletics.
The Division I initial-eligibility requirements have changed. For the class of 2008 and Beyond: Division I only -- 16 core coursesIf you plan to enter college in 2008 or after, you will need to present 16 core courses in the following breakdown:
Registering with the NCAA Clearinghouse:
* Two (2) copies go to the Counseling Office so transcripts and test scores can be sent. * One (1) copy should be kept for your own files.
* Mail the original form with your registration fee to the NCAA Clearinghouse. * Two (2) copies go to the Counseling Office so transcripts and test scores can be sent.
