May 14, 2013 (Mid-State/Freshman Honor Tracked posted!!) Welcome to the Riverdale Vocal Department! Students can choose General Music, Music Theory or Concert Choir to earn their Fine Arts Credit. For the more serious singer, students can audition for one of the more advanced choirs, including the Select Choir, the Women's Chorale, or the Riverdale Singers. Descriptions of each of these options are available by clicking on the link to the left. General Music - open to any student with a general interest in music and music history. Music Theory - for the ADVANCED music student who wants to dig into the mechanics behind the music. Strongly encouraged for upperclassmen planning to study music in college. Beginning Women's Ensemble (formerly Concert Choir) - open to any student, grades 9-12; no audition required; at least one major performance per semester. Men's Ensemble - open to all men, grades 9-12 - no audition required. Must have a strong performance desire, as performances range from small a capella ensembles with beat boxing, to formal choral festival settings. Women's Chorale - open to ladies in grades 10-12 by audition with intermediate to advanced choral skills; minimum one year of choir experience Riverdale Singers - advanced mixed ensemble open to upper level students by audition; minimum two years choir experience, Mid-State/All-State; private voice expectations
