REMIND101 is another tool I use to send quick notes via "text."  Students are signing up in their class, and parents are also invited to sign up.  Simply send a text to (317) 449-2694.  The "message" is below, based on which group you are joining:

    General Music - text message = @genm

    Music Theory - text message = @mustheory

    Men's Choir - text message = @selec

    Women's Chorale - text message = @wchorale

    Singers - text message = @singer

    Seniors - text message = @rvdseniors

Other groups will be added as needed (i.e.Mid-State, All-State).

The BEST way to keep in touch and keep updated is by providing me with an email address to which I can send updates and information.
