Purpose
The Riverdale Vocal Department Parent Support Group is the backbone of the Riverdale Vocal program. The purpose of the Support Group is to provide parental support and involvement in the chorus program, to assist the Director, to promote community interest in music, and to further the educational interests of the students in the Riverdale High School Vocal Department. Parents of choir students are invited and encouraged to support the program by attending meetings and by volunteering to serve in capacities outlined below.
Officers
Officers are appointed by the Choir Director, Mrs. Williams, and include a President, Secretary, and Chairpersons for various committees. Officers must have students currently in the vocal program. The Steering Committee is made up of the officers, and they, along with Mrs. Williams, will work together to plan and coordinate all events. Input and suggestions are welcome from any parent for the purpose of improving and strengthening the program. All officers and chairpersons will report to Mrs. Williams for final approval.
Responsibilities:
- The President will be responsible for working directly with the Director to oversee all Booster Club activities and functions.
- The Secretary will be responsible for keeping notes in an organized manner of all meetings, as well as other functional duties (i.e. making copies). Notes should be maintained in an orderly fashion in a notebook, with copies provided to the Director.
- Committee chairpersons will be appointed as the need arises (i.e. fundraising activities, decorations, etc.) If you have a special interest in a specific area, please let Mrs. Williams know.
Meetings
Meetings of the Parent Support Group will be called as needed for the purpose of discussing matters of interest to the whole vocal group. Meetings may be called for specific vocal groups when the discussion is primarily related to the activities of that group.

Committee Opportunities (please let me know if you're interested):
- Uniform (handle assigning/ordering uniforms—tuxedos, dresses)
- Fundraising (different chairpersons for different events) – Car Wash, Candles, Butter Braids, Donuts, Coffee House
- Decorations for events (Christmas concerts, Coffee House, etc.)
- Banquet (end of year) - decorations/set up
