The largest club at at RHS, the Spanish Club is more than grammar and culture. Days are scheduled in class to learn songs in Spanish and to learn about the culture of Latin American countries.

Since 1994, the club has adopted the Domestic Violence Program as a service project. Each year members bring in items from the center's wish list such as blankets, toys and medicine. During the holiday season, the club provides gifts for teenagers. Club officers also volunteer at the center's holiday party and help with whatever is needed by the center. If there is a teenager in the center's shelter and it is their birthday, the center calls upon the club to provide gifts for this teenager to make their day a special one.

We also started a new tradition. We adopted a senior citizen. Many elderly people in our community often get lonely around Christmas and other times, so a few of our club members take time out of their own busy schedule to make someone without a family feel special. We visit, take gifts, and spend time with them.

We started something else new recently. It was brought to our attention that the Humane Alliance needed help. The Humane Alliance of Rutherford County is a separate animal service facility offering care for abandoned animals and working to place them in homes. We collect and donate items that they need according to their wish list and deliver them to the facility. Items we collect are old towels, blankets and linens, dog and cat food, kitty litter, cleaning supplies, etc.
